About
Trail running and kayaking festival “Mazsalacas Vadātājs” invites you to the most exciting weekend of the year, rediscovering mysterious natural treasures of Northern Vidzeme in the Salaca river valley. In two race distances you can run or hike the nature trails of Dauģēni and Skaņaiskalns, follow the animal trails like a PATHFINDER and maybe meet a Northern Vidzeme giant on the other bank of the Salaca river or jump in a boat like an AMPHIBIAN and enjoy the river flow and rocky landscapes on the way back. But this event is more than just a race! Throughout the day, at the event’s basecamp, the dreamy Līči School, there will be workshops, sports and artistic activities for your fellow travelers. After the awards ceremony, you and your whole family are invited to taste local foods, listen to live music and enjoy a relaxed summers end under the shade of the Līči School linden trees.

*A registered participant has access to the festival workshops and the concert at the venue. A Co-rider ticket also allows family members to enter the event area and enjoy everything on offer. Event's basecamp
The Līči School is an old wooden building, rich in experience. Originally a 7-class school, it later came under the supervision of the collective farm. Now it is open to travelers, wanderers, peace seekers, cultural events and camps. The Līči School enchants with the silence and wildness of the Salaca Valley, where only boaters and locals pass by, which is becoming more rare phenomenon in the border area. On the day of the race, the Līči School will host a ceramics workshop, drawing, painting and other creative workshops, a children’s corner with games and books, as well as sports activities for your fellow travellers. Participants are welcome to spend the night at the Līči school and continue enjoying a lazy Sunday relaxing by the river or enjoying the cultural life of Mazsalaca.
